Robust in a production environment
1st Requirement: Solid hardware
KLIPPEL QC SYSTEM provides a special hardware solution coping with ground loops, electro-magnetic interference, dirty power lines and extreme climate conditions which are typical for a production environment:
- XLR balanced inputs and outputs reducing ground loops
- preamplifiers controlled in 1dB steps to ensure maximal SNR
- 2 BNC inputs with ICP power for microphone, accelerometers and others
- 2 speaker terminals to measure tweeter and woofer simultaneously
- four-wire technique for true voltage and current monitoring
- galvanically decoupled current sensor with low resistance (0.02 Ohm)
- current measurement up to 60 Amps
- voltage measurement up to 500 V
- sensor for temperature and humidity for climate monitoring
- optical decoupled input and output pins (GPIO)
- voltage control and performance check of external power amplifier
- self-calibration of the hardware platform.

2nd Requirement: Noise immunity
Testing audio products requires the acoustical measurement of symptoms (Rub & Buzz) which are more than 80 dB below the fundamental component. Production noise can easily exceed those values and produce invalid results. KLIPPEL QC System provides
- solutions for reliable testing at a high levels of noise
- high-pressure microphones for near field measurements
- recommendations for test boxes and shielding.

- KLIPPEL introduced an additional microphone for end-of-line testing which measures the ambient production noise and checks reliably whether the measurement is valid or corrupted by noise.
This information by a novel patent protected technology gives full Production Noise Immunity by performing the following steps:
- storing the valid parts of each measured response,
- automatic repetition of corrupted measurement,
- merging the valid parts of the response,
- giving a complete valid response eventually.
The module Motor and Suspension Check is completely immune against production noise and dispenses with conventional harmonic distortion measurements.
